Pearson labs added to ISU Labs DB

The Computer Science labs in Pearson have been added to to the ISU Computer Labs Database. You can use this page to check the status and view detailed schedules of the Pearson labs.


Disk quota increased

Disk quotas for students have been increased. The new values are:
CS Graduate Student1000 MB
CS Undergraduate500 MB
Non-CS major300 MB


Linux Lab now open

The Linux lab in 0158 Pearson is now open. It has the same open hours as other labs:
Mon-Fri 12a-12a
Sat 8a-12a
Sun 12p-12a


New Printer Queues

The printer queues have been given new, more descriptive names:
Pearson108BW
Pearson109BW
Pearson109COLOR
Pearson141COLOR
Pearson145BW
If you are using the lpr or lpq commands(on Linux only), the old names will still work.


32-bit Transition and VISTA machines

The Windows XP 64-bit machines in 0141 Pearson have been changed to the 32-bit version of Windows VISTA to allow for greater compatibility. Additionally, all the machines in 0105/0109 Pearson have been moved to Windows VISTA. The machines in 0108 Pearson currently remain Windows XP.


Group meeting room available

0102 Pearson is now available for Group Meetings. Sign up on the self-reservation sheet by the door.


Windows Vista

Windows Vista Business is now available on MSDNAA. It can be downloaded and burned from the Pearson Windows labs. (0108, 0105, 0109) Windows Vista 32-bit and 64-bit DVD .iso's have also been added to burnboy for those who have had problems using MSDNAA. (burnboy is located in 0112 Pearson Hall.)


MSDNAA

An issue with the MSDNAA downloads and Internet Explorer update has been found. Please point Internet Explorer to here instead of http://msdnaa.lab.cs.iastate.edu for the time being.
